Genioplasty is a surgical procedure where the surgeon inserts the sculpted silicone implant that suits the patient in the desired area and closes the wound. Nowadays, there are 2 techniques available as follows.
01 External Chin Surgery
The wound is only a few centimeters in size and doesn’t become scars afterwards. The surgeon inserts the silicone through the slit between the gums and lower lips, closes the wound with absorbable suture, no stitch removal required.
02 Internal Chin Surgery
The surgeon creates a small slit on the chin and inserts the silicone in. This wound from this method is easy to be taken care of and recover. Also, there are only a few limitations in food consumption and less foodborne infection possibilities.
